Background

Completed in 2021, the Normafa Visitor Center represents a thoughtful response to the area's environmental needs and visitor requirements. Designed by architect László Benczúr Jr., who won a prestigious design competition in 2017, the center serves multiple functions within a 27-hectare park that sees over 10,000 weekly visitors. The project included both the construction of a new visitor center and the revitalization of the historic Rajk Villa. The design philosophy centered on creating a structure that doesn't impose on nature but rather appears as an extension of the landscape itself, with fragmented rooflines and facades that echo the surrounding terrain's natural movements.

What We Did

Vision Graphics was commissioned to create exterior visualizations showing the Normafa Visitor Center throughout all four seasons, highlighting how the building's innovative design integrates with the changing natural environment. Our team developed detailed renderings showcasing how the wooden facade and fragmented metal roofing harmonize with spring blossoms, lush summer greenery, autumn foliage, and winter snow. We carefully captured the building's unique architectural elements, including the random column arrangement and the way the structure seems to emerge organically from the hillside. These visualizations helped stakeholders and the public understand how this significant development would complement rather than dominate one of Budapest's most beloved natural areas.
