Red Whale 2 is a 66,000 sqm extension to the successful Red Whale Shopping Centre in Mytishchi, Moscow Region, completed in 2015. The project expanded the existing mall to a total area of 92,300 sqm, adding new retail space and residential accommodation on top.

Background

Red Whale has established itself as a leading retail destination and customer traffic generator in the Moscow region, benefiting from its prime location in front of Mytishchi train station. The second phase aimed to build on this success, creating an exciting extension that would attract top national and international tenants. Dyer was commissioned to design both the interiors and exteriors, developing a cohesive aesthetic that blends seamlessly with the existing structure while offering a contemporary shopping experience.

What We Did

We created comprehensive exterior and interior visualizations for the Red Whale 2 project, including rendered sections to showcase the multi-level design. Our work highlighted the cohesive wayfinding strategy, mall furniture, food court, and ice rink designs. We also produced special versions of some interiors showcasing Christmas decorations and event setups, demonstrating the mall's versatility for seasonal and special occasions. Our renderings emphasized the harmonized aesthetic of shopfronts, mall bulkheads, balustrades, and flooring, illustrating how these elements come together to create a coherent, contemporary shopping environment that would appeal to high-end tenants and shoppers alike.
