Salarievo Transport Hub is a massive 250,000 sqm multi-modal transportation center designed for Moscow in 2013. The concept features a spectacular atrium that serves as the "beating heart" of the development, creating a dynamic interchange through various bridge links between different functions …

Background

Located in Moscow's expanding southwestern region, the Salarievo project was part of the Russian Government's modernization program of major infrastructure projects. The hub was designed to serve as a pivotal gateway linking old Moscow to new development areas, situated near Salaryevo Village directly facing Kievskoye Highway. The multi-level design included park-and-ride facilities, car parking, metro, rail and bus interchange, as well as significant retail elements spanning approximately 110,000 sqm that would house a hypermarket, cinema, food court, restaurants, fashion, and entertainment venues.

What We Did

We created exterior and interior visualizations for the Salarievo Transport Hub project, bringing to life the concept developed by Dyer in collaboration with Russian partner Platforma and John McAslan architectural practice. Our renderings highlighted the spectacular central atrium that forms the core of the design, showcasing how this space creates a dynamic interchange between the various transportation functions. The visualizations emphasized the striking vertical and roof structure that emerges where the atrium meets the façade, transforming the otherwise simple and functional exterior envelope into a distinctive architectural feature. Our work helped communicate how the overall appearance of the building would be easily recognizable and could serve as a basis for future brand development.
