Our team created striking visualizations for the 2010 architectural competition to reimagine Adler Railway Station, a 6,300 sqm transportation hub located on Sochi's spectacular coastline near the Winter Olympic venues. The competition called for a bright and expressive architectural concept that…
Background
The design concept evolved from the dynamic movement patterns created by transportation and pedestrians, incorporating both the technical requirements of a railway station and the site's exceptional location. The project needed to create a symbolic presence that would provide identity for the surrounding area while taking advantage of spectacular sea views. The station's strategic position required seamless accessibility from both the seaside promenade and the city side, challenging the design team to create a structure that would serve as both a functional transportation hub and a landmark destination in this rapidly developing Olympic region.
What We Did
Our team developed comprehensive exterior visualizations showcasing the proposed station's striking architectural form and its relationship to Sochi's beautiful coastline. We created a detailed interior rendering from the platform perspective, highlighting the passenger experience and the station's unique spatial qualities. Through aerial integration, we demonstrated how the new structure would fit within the broader context of Adler and the Olympic venue area, emphasizing its prominent beachfront location. Our visualizations effectively communicated how the design would create a distinctive landmark while fulfilling the complex functional requirements of a modern railway terminal serving both daily commuters and Olympic visitors.
