The Zhyulebino project, also known as Moskovskiye Ogni (Lights of Moscow), was designed as a 67,000 sqm regional shopping mall in Moscow, intended to be the first in a planned chain of retail and entertainment centers. Strategically located next to a metro station, the development was conceived t…
Background
As the first in a planned series of retail centers designed to integrate seamlessly into smaller local communities around Moscow's regional centers, Zhyulebino represented an innovative approach to neighborhood-scale commercial development. The project's most distinctive feature was its top floor, which introduced an experimental concept to the Moscow retail scene - an internal space emulating a city piazza that combined various gastronomic options, entertainment facilities including Minopolis for kids, an ice-skating rink, and a movie theater, along with spacious lounges creating more private zones for relaxing or meetings. This approach aligned with the evolving trend in Moscow's retail landscape, where shopping centers were becoming more than just places to shop but destinations for social interaction and entertainment.
What We Did
Our team developed comprehensive interior visualizations for the Zhyulebino mall, showcasing the innovative "city piazza" concept on the top floor with its diverse food offerings and entertainment options. We created detailed renderings highlighting the project's distinctive design elements, including the sculptural GRG ceilings, illuminated bulkheads, and prominent motif lighting that would establish the development as a modern city landmark. Our visualizations effectively communicated how the sharp cutting lines of the brand design would be reflected in the interior spaces, creating a cohesive visual identity throughout the mall that would become the signature look for this new chain of retail centers in Moscow.
