Background

The Hotel's Past

The undeniable success of the building stems from its mysterious elements and exciting Art Nouveau facade. The architect designed it in the second half of the 1800s, at a time when Franz Joseph, the Austro-Hungarian ruler, was a regular visitor to nearby Abbazia. The aristocratic image was also accepted as a model by the local elite, and it was designed for hotel functions from the beginning, opening with 28 rooms in 1905.

The building has always operated as a hotel, with its Mediterranean garden, the patina of retaining walls and roads, and the ancient tree-filled park in front of it, which elevated this charming hotel to a privileged place

What We Did

The project began with 3D modeling based on 2D CAD data, transforming flat architectural drawings into a three-dimensional digital representation of the structure. This process involved carefully interpreting the floor plans, elevations, and sections to create an accurate spatial model. The 3D model served as the foundation for all subsequent visualization work, ensuring consistency across different design aspects and presentations.

With the base model in place, we explored various interior design options and color studies. This phase involved creating multiple design variations for key spaces, experimenting with different furniture layouts, material selections, and color schemes. These iterations allowed the client to visualize potential outcomes and make informed decisions about the final design direction. Concurrently, we produced high-quality interior and exterior renderings, showcasing the design in photorealistic detail. These renderings highlighted architectural features, material textures, lighting conditions, and the overall ambiance of both indoor and outdoor spaces.

To provide context and demonstrate how the project would integrate with its surroundings, we undertook extensive site modeling. This included creating a digital representation of the landscape, neighboring structures, and relevant topographical features. We also developed a 360-degree virtual tour, allowing stakeholders to experience the space interactively from various vantage points. Finally, we seamlessly inserted 3D renders into site and drone photographs, effectively illustrating how the completed project would appear in its real-world setting. This combination of techniques provided a comprehensive visualization package, aiding in decision-making and offering a compelling presentation of the project's potential.
