Background
The Q Building is located in the Info Park area of Budapest, along Magyar Tudósok körútja (Hungarian Scientists Boulevard), next to the BME I Building. The site was once a lake formed by a dam on the Danube, and after being filled, it was long considered unsuitable for construction. The building follows a radial-ring design principle that respects the spirit and scale of existing structures in the area, with its axis pointing toward a focal point that offers views of the Danube between the ELTE buildings. The Q Building primarily houses departments from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, providing modern educational facilities in a contemporary setting
What We Did
At Vision Graphics, we created comprehensive visualization materials for the BME Q Building project, including exterior and interior renderings, aerial photos and integrations. Our work showcased the building's distinctive architectural elements - the suspended elliptical lecture halls above the glass-walled atrium, the clean geometric lines of the side wings, and the building's relationship to its campus environment. We highlighted how the transparent atrium would provide views toward both the center of the campus area and the Danube river. Our visualizations helped stakeholders understand how this modern educational facility would function with its clear organizational system: two 495 and 365-seat lecture halls in the elliptical volume, with smaller lecture rooms, seminar spaces, and department facilities arranged in the rectangular wings
